So let’s go back to the summer of 2011.

I was only 12 at the time and my older sister and I were hanging out in the living listening to music. Instantly a song played and I was totally captivated by it. That song was Saliva by Mew. I think what first caught my attention was the line, “And I’m sorry, about you and me.” As the song continued I was more and more interested in the band. The sound was completely new to me, at that time I was listening to pop and hip hop but suddenly my interest changed after that.

When my sister noticed I liked the song so much, she played Special and then The Zookeeper’s Boy and then I knew without a doubt I was hooked. After that I did my own searching and downloaded all of their albums onto my Itunes and listened to them constantly. I started learning who was part of the band and where the band was from and hoped that one day they’d come to Los Angeles (I’m still waiting for that day). Until then my dream is that I one day have enough money to go watch Mew live in Copenhagen, since that’s where they give the best performance ever.

I’ve been a proud and strong Frenger for 4 years now and continuously look for more Frengers to connect and befriend with. I feel like there aren’t a lot here in California, but I know there will be soon.
