The first UK show for 2009 has been confirmed. Mew have been announced to Latitude Festival held in Henham Park, in the small town of Southwold (Suffolk, England). This is a relatively new festival (established just three years ago) and Mew will play on July 17th, just before the previously announced American show in Chicago. Latitude Festival is not all about music – they also concentrate on cinema, theatre, stand-up comedy, cabaret and literature among other arts.

Mew will play at this year’s Pukkelpop Festival in Kiewit-Hasselt, Belgium. The festival is held on August 20th-22nd and the line-up looks pretty good so far. This is one of the largest festivals in Belgium – gathering approximately 150 000 attendees per year and having over 200 acts performing.

Seems like we get tour dates all the time. Sweden has now been added and therefore the whole Nordic region is pretty much complete. Mew will play at this year’s Storsjöyran Festival held in the town of Östersund in the middle of Sweden. The Danes were supposed to play “Yran” already in 2006, but had to cancel due to American tour clashing the date three years ago. The new date is July 31st 2009 and this is the only Swedish gig for Mew this summer.
